What are Implant Retained Dentures?
Also known as “Snap On” dentures, Implant retained dentures can be a great option for those looking for something that feels more secured compared to conventional dentures (which use suction to stay in place). While it is a greater investment and takes longer to install, Implant retained dentures are removable and considered a more convenient long-term solution.

Benefits of Implant Retained Dentures? Many!
These are some of the benefits of implant retained denture implants:
- Restores a more secure bite.
- Helps preserve the surrounding bone by the implant replacing the tooth root.
- Helps prevent loss of bone and jaw line recession.
- Easy to clean as they are removable.
- Comfort knowing the denture will not fall out of your mouth.
Implant Retained Dentures: Our Appointment Process

Consultation
The Implant Retained Dentures process begins with an in-depth examination of your oral cavity, Xray, and a thorough discussion of the expectations around your new implant(s) and denture.

Implant Placement Surgery
Four implants will be placed at the top, and up to four on the bottom. The posts (above the gum line) are left alone to heal for a minimum of 3 months. You will have a temporary denture to wear during the healing phase, so you never go without teeth. After 3 months once the implants have properly integrated and are healed, your new set of “snap on” dentures will be successfully secured to the implants and can be taken out at any time for cleaning.

Long Term Maintenance
For long term results, it’s recommended you get ongoing maintenance care and cleaning, helping to prevent any build-up of stains and tartar. This is a service we offer, as well as ongoing checkups to ensure your new overdentures aren’t causing you any difficulties while chewing or Speaking.
